On Saturday 10th November, Grass & Air hosted “Mud Fest” in collaboration with Our Kid, Chorlton, and We Are Adventurers. Our aim? To celebrate the launch of our new rainwear collection by getting kids outside. We were also excited to showcase our garments to parents to get their opinion and prove that our rainwear really can stand up against downpours and dirt.
We invited some of the most influential bloggers and ‘instamums’ to join us for a muddy morning of action in the heart of a woodland setting in Chorlton.
Every kid was given a brand new shiny pair of wellies and a rainwear garment, whether it be a Rainster, Rain Cheater, Stomper Suit, Stomper Slacks or Rain Runners, to be tried and tested in the mud. We challenged them to stomp in puddles, roll in the dirt and generally kid about to prove that our rainwear collection is not only stylish but durable too.
Once they had received their new gear, We Are Adventurers, an outdoor adventure company run by Forest School practitioners, took over and invited the kids to get involved in some fun mud activities, including den building, hide and seek, tightrope walking and general running and stomping in the mud.
Once the kids were all muddy and had proven our garments and wellies were tough enough to withstand the rough and tumble out outdoor play, they headed to the campfire to eat tasty bbq food, drink hot chocolate and toast marshmallows.
Here’s what some of the mums that attended had to say:
@whatthekidswore:
“loving the tailoring on the girls rain coat! 100% rain and mud proof, kept the kids clothes dry and clean.”
@lucyathomeblog:
“Our girls had so much fun at the #mudfestmcr forest school event hosted by @grassandair @ourkidsocial. They all looked fab kitted out in their new Grass & Air waterproofs.”
@_hollygoeslightly:
“I didn’t know the brand Grass & Air before today and Flo got to wear their outdoor jackets and wellies (adore the coral colour!) so she was suitably dressed for all the fun and frolics.”
@parentfolk:
“A totally magical and muddy morning at the very cool launch event of new outdoor kidswear brand @grassandair with @ourkidsocial. Totally brilliant in every way! The little folk had a ball and totally love their new (tried and tested!!) gear.”
@rainycitykids:
“well @grassandair we can safely say your beautiful outdoor gear survived the mud and kept us dry! Loved #mudfestmcr, thanks so much for having us and feeding us hot chocolate and marshmallows! Best dressed muddy kids in Manchester.”
The event was finished off with the kids having their picture taken in a wonderful vintage VW called Birdie. This spectacular vintage vehicle which has been transformed into a photobooth and stylish pale pink haven of decorations and props, a fun activity for the kids and parents (as well as the Grass & Air team)!
Thank you to everyone who came to join us and made it a truly wonderful morning of messy, muddy and playful fun.

There’s something magical about the transition from summer to fall. It’s a season of vibrant colours, cosy sweaters, and, of course, the bountiful harvest. Winter is on the horizon and although we have lots to look forward to (Christmas, of course) the days are shorter and colder making it difficult for outdoor fun. That being said, there’s still plenty to do outside this season, even after the sun has set and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune either. …
