Halloween Half Term Activities To Do with Your Family
It’s that time of year again where the leaves turn crunchy and the temperature drops. Spooky season is upon us and we know how much kids look forward to dressing up and using their imagination. As parents we are trained in the art of last minute costume buying and scrambling around for Halloween activities. Whether you are a pumpkin patch promoter or a haunted house enthusiast. We have come up with some great Halloween ideas to keep your kids preoccupied for the holidays.
1. Halloween Food
This time of year is all about trick or treats so why not make some fun Halloween themed treats with your kids. There are plenty of fun recipes like this pumpkin rice krispy treat recipe. Or why not make some short bread into some spooky shapes and decorate with Halloween colours.
2. DIY Halloween Costume
Why don’t you get creative with your kids and make your own costumes from scratch. Grab some old clothes, bed sheets, pom poms, glue and scissors. Create your own monsters and characters, let your kids imagination run wild!
3. Pumpkin Painting
This is a great Halloween activity if you have small children and you don’t want them carving. You can get your paint brushes out and let your child’s inner artist come alive.
4. Make your own Mummys
This activity is great as a group! All you need is toilet paper. Split into teams and volunteer one person as the mummy (TIP: funnier if a parent volunteers). Then the rest is up to the group to create a mummy masterpiece by wrapping toilet paper all around the lucky volunteer. This Halloween idea is bound to get a load of laughs!
5. Create Halloween Decorations
If you are last minute with your Halloween decorations it’s worth creating your own and making it a fun activity. Get stuck into the world of DIY and make this easy giant balloon spider. Or cut up some black paper into witches hats, bats and spider webs.
We hope our ideas keep your families preoccupied this Halloween and tag us in any ideas you do on instagram @grassandair. Keep your little ones dry and warm this Halloween in our selection of kids raincoats and kids wellies.
