Article: Grass & Air crowned the winners of the Bubble "Rising Star" Award

Grass & Air crowned the winners of the Bubble "Rising Star" Award

As a new brand launched last year, we at Grass & Air decided to exhibit at Bubble London on the 28th and 29th January 2018. Our ethos is to encourage kids to get outside and play through our stylish rainwear with fun and innovative twists. Therefore, we want to be more accessible to customers in their local area who need a last-minute weatherproof item for a rainy day at the park or weekend festival. Although we sell through our Grass & Air ecommerce website, stocking our trend-led garments in retail stores up and down the country would allow us to achieve this. Attending Bubble London provided us the opportunity to establish relationships with independent retailers and high street stores.

About Bubble London

Bubble London is a children’s trade show located at The Business Design Centre in Islington. The show brings exciting brands together, from well-known industry heavyweights to emerging labels and start-ups with their debut launches. Bubble provides them with the opportunity to showcase their new collections to both UK and international retailers, department stores and buyers, as well as press in order to try and gain coverage.

About the "Rising Star" Award

Every year, Bubble hosts the “Rising Star” Award. The sought-after award recognises first-time exhibitors and offers them a unique opportunity to raise their profiles and therefore, acts as a great springboard to be seen by retailers as the next up-and-coming brand and set themselves apart from the competition. We were delighted to be nominated as a finalist amongst some fantastic new brands, including Bianco Baby, Dandydill Way, Moccz, Small Stories, Suindiatic, The Faraway Gang and Wildchild. The judges consisted of some of the most experienced people in children’s fashion. Laura Turner from Childrenswear Buyer Magazine, Simon Dernie from Little bRrogues (winner of Independant Retail "Best Footwear Store" Award), Kerrie McCoy from monkeymccoy.co.uk (winner of "Best Online Store" Award) and Madeline Walsh from meandbuddy.com. As judges, their role was to discover the brand who they believe has the most commercial viability, strength of branding, product quality and design.

The Grass & Air team with their Bubble London Rising Star Award

We were shocked, honoured and elated to be crowned the winners of the Rising Star Award. We have worked incredibly hard over the last year, from perfecting the product, through to the launch of the brand in October 2017 and the continuing efforts of the Grass & Air team. The recognition of being the brand to watch in 2018 has us beaming with pride.  Thank you to everyone who has supported us thus far. We look forward to seeing you again at Bubble London on July 15th/16th 2018.
